Panleukopenia in cats is a highly contagious disease. The feline panleukopenia virus (FPV), belonging to the Parvoviridae family, is the causative agent of feline panleukopenia (FP). FP is also known as “feline distemper” in cats. FPV is a non-enveloped, single-stranded DNA virus. Cats infected with FPV exhibit a variety of clinical signs, including diarrhea, depression, vomiting, and dehydration. It is characterized by enteritis, leukopenia and aberrant development. The Labtelligenc FPV Antigen Rapid Test Device is a qualitative lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the detection of Feline Panleukopenia Virus antigen (FPV Ag).
